COURSE ABSTRACT:
The training is designed to provide participants with opportunity to engage in activities that will improve their e-content development skills. This will serve as a forum for trainees to engage in hands on training programme to convert existing courses in subjects that they teach into e-Learning format and hence produce autorun e-Learning CDs. The objective of the three-five day training will be to guide trainees through a systematic process in e-Learning content development:
* An introduction to e-Learning concepts
* Content rendering and structuring
* Practical, hands-on e-Content development software.
* Online teaching using e-Learning System
By the end of the training, each trainee MUST develop a prototype course using sample content.

TARGET AUDIENCE:
e-Learning Content Development course is designed for participants from academic institutions or organizations that already teaching or supporting learning and intend to make use of e-Learning technologies in education and training. Individuals interested in e-Learning are also encouraged to apply. As the training will be hands-on, trainees are advised to carry sample course contents in soft copy. The training will be facilitated by e-Learning experts from ICT Center, University of Nairobi who have a wealth of knowledge and experience in e-Learning.
PREREQUISITES AND REQUIREMENTS: Participants must have knowledge of MS Windows and Word. Participants must also carry sample course content in soft copy.
EXPECTED OUTCOME:
Participants who complete this course will: Be able to produce learning materials in portable media e.g. CD and DVD; be able to use electronic learning management system; conduct online training and teaching; and gain a deeper understanding of e-Content Development.
