COM 20: COMMUNICATION AND ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP
Duration: 5 DAYS
COST: Kshs. 30,000
Dates:
COURSE ABSTRACT:
Controversies persist about the best way to lead: coercive, utilitarian, or idealistic. In quick fix solutions, organisations rush to fine-tuning communication systems. Communication has a central role in leadership - as a delivery system for content. But content can only be created by types of leadership. It is the leaders visionary leadership that translates the ideals of an organisation into a visible mission of definite values. This is what transformational leadership achieves. Activities that are carried out in the coercive or utilitarian contexts are rarely transformational unless the idea is to move from the former to the latter. But if organisations or individuals want to realize what appears impossible, only transformational leadership can do it.
