COM 14 : ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATION AND CONDUCTING MEETINGS
Duration: 4 DAYS
COST: Kshs. 40,000
Dates:
COURSE ABSTRACT:
If not meandering focusless, and fruitless, meetings in organisations can be a stormy, bruising, blame game of affairs or groupthink loyalty pledging sessions - not problem-solving forums. A lot of these problems are caused by one thing: lack of communication skills in conducting meetings, particularly on issues of change. Instead of such outcomes, it is possible to have productive meetings in organisations that stay on focus where all contribute in a meaningful and committed way. Since so much depends on decisions made in meetings, it is crucial to have them go right. The course addresses communication in relation to the pitfalls of groupthink, office politics, group fear of risk, and missing or misinterpreting feedback. By doing so, it charts the way out of the murky waters of unproductive meetings. It also provides a study in formats for recording the consensus arrived at.
